Woven Fabric Inspection Machines

Woven fabrics do not stretch. Unlike knitted fabric they hold their dimensions under tension, so during inspection tension is set manually by the operator. The right tension is applied according to fabric type, weight and width, giving both an even wind and an accurate metre reading.

Which fabrics

Shirting and suiting fabrics, denim, upholstery fabrics, technical textiles and synthetic leather are inspected in this group. For heavy and wide fabrics the frame and drive system are dimensioned accordingly.

What inspection catches

• Weaving faults originating in warp and weft, and floats
• Stains, holes and tears
• Width variation and selvedge defects
• Shade differences from printing and dyeing

Infeed and outfeed options

Fabric can be fed as a roll or in plaits, and can leave as a roll or in plaits. Edge sensors keep the wind straight-edged, while the length counter secures the accuracy of the recorded metreage.

Combined with cutting and slitting

For upholstery and technical fabrics, inspection can be combined with automatic cutting or slitting on the same line. The fabric is then inspected and cut to the required width in a single pass.
